Trocobuy wins the Yared Award 2013 to the best Financing Innovation in Europe
The University of País Vasco and the Management and Finance Forum reward TrocoBuy as the best Financing Innovation of 2013.
The Summer Courses on Financing and Economy organised by the University of País Vasco took place, as every year, in Bilbao from 11th through 13th September. This year the conference focused on Innovation and Treasury Management.
After the courses opening by Leire San-José, Director of ECRI Ethics in Finance and Governance, we were invited to participate in the first activity, a round table with Jose Mª Vázquez, ex-president of the Confederación Empresarial de Bizkaia, José Luís Retolaza, Director of AURKILAN Business Ethics Research Institute and José María Goñi, President of the Management and Financing Forum.
We were as well requested to make a presentation about TrocoBuy, addressed to the Finance Directors of the largest companies from the Basque Country (Tubacex, Grupo Mondragon, Vidrala, Euskaltel, Idom, Grupo Artetxe, etc.), to some of the most important Financial Institutions (Banco Santander, Barclays, La Caixa, etc.) and first level personalities such as Arturo Rodríguez, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration of the UPV; Leire San-José, main researcher of ECRI and coordinator of the Summer Course, and Erik Lamarque, international authority in financing and banking, as well as PhD at the University of Bordeaux, president of the Association of French Universities and Adviser at SECOR.
At the end of the talk given by our CEO César Canedo about Innovation in Finance Managing and Cash Pooling, we took the opportunity to officially present the new image of TrocoBuy, the new platform and, most of all, our new services. As César pointed out,
The Beta phase is finished and we are ready to open our platform to a global market, helping companies, sole-traders and entrepreneurs to access to liquidity.
On 13th September, during the courses closing ceremony, José Luís Retoloza, Leire San-José and José Mª de Goñi surprised all the attendees by presenting the first Yared Award given by the University of País Vasco and the Management and Financing Forum. This award recognised at a European level the best financing innovation in 2013 which also entails a positive impact on society…
… and we were the ones rewarded. TrocoBuy was honoured to inaugurate an award intended to become a European reference in business and academic spheres.

After receiving the prize, César Canedo expressed his gratitude to the attendees for the decision and support given to TrocoBuy, and explained the long distance covered until this moment.
Since TrocoBuy’s Alfa version was started up and after 18 months in Beta phase we have experienced an exponential growth, but we have also made mistakes and improved ourselves, and most of all, we have learned. TrocoBuy understands now better than ever the real needs of companies and sole-traders, the ones who are really boosting the economy in Spain… and in Europe… and in the rest of the world.
TrocoBuy’s team is really honoured to collect this award, we are proud of helping companies to access to liquidity in these difficult times. Paraphrasing what José Mª Vázquez commented at the beginning of these summer courses, companies die by their cash flow. We are pleased to be able to help thousands of companies to obtain the liquidity they need and keep doing business.
